What is breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation is also known as augmentation mammaplasty. The procedure involves using implants to restore breast volume and fulfill your desire for fuller breasts. Arizona women decide upon breast augmentation for many different reasons. Some include the perception of being underdeveloped, different sizes or changes in shape due to pregnancy, breast feeding, weight loss and aging. For some patients living in Arizona, breast augmentation surgery also may be used to reconstruct a breast after masteoctomy or injury.
In Arizona, what are the steps for breast augmentation?
Anesthesia
Medications are administered during the breast augmentation surgery. Choices can include intravenous sedation and general anesthesia.
Incision
Incisions are made by an Arizona breast augmentation doctor in an inconspicuous area to minimize visible scarring. Incisions options include transaxillary (armpit incision), areola (nipple incision, peri-areola incision, inframammary fold (creased incision) and TUBA (transumbillical, belly button or navel incision).
Implant Choice and Placement
Options in Arizona include saline implants or silicone implants. Implant type is determined based upon your breast anatomy, skin elasticity and body type. The location of the implant is typically placed on top or underneath the chest muscle. During your initial consultation at our office in Arizona, you will discuss breast augmentation implants and placement with Dr Hall.
Recovery
At the conclusion of your breast augmentation surgery, Arizona patients will have several options for recovery. You can be released home to the care of a family member, friend or hired caregiver who must commit to stay with you at all times for a minimum of 24 hours after surgery. You can elect to stay at a licensed recovery facility, spa or hospital in Arizona. A breast augmentation healthcare provider will monitor your recovery per Dr Hall’s instructions.
Be prepared to discuss with Dr Hall during your visit at our Arizona office, your expectations for breast augmentation surgery, medical condition, drug allergies, and medical history.
